Changes - What that Means to YOU!!

Facebook has changed. Twitter has changed. YouTube well that's always changed. Amazon has changed. Goodness knows what is happening to Goodreads, but you know they are in the process of change.

Change Change Change.

Setting yourself up as anything whether an Independent Author, business, or organization now requires that you have at least the fundamental knowledge of Strategy and Marketing Principles. As the governments push for their requirements (Note: FCC regulations on hashtags along with disclaimers on giveaways and raffles). It's no longer anyone can help you get your work out. Street Teams are completely dead with the new updates destroying the carries they once had the abilities to do. Like a post, ask your Street Team members to like too so it carries to their friends as well. Guess what, that is not how it works anymore. When you ask your Street Team members to like a post do you know what happens? NOTHING!! That post in that room gets likes and that's it. No carrying to your friends, no on someone else's timeline for them to see, nope nothing happens. If you're a Marketing person that has some clue you can utilize that information for analytic purposes, but if you don't have a clue what I mean then you just wasted time you could be using for more important things. Authors have groups, Businesses have pages, and organizations have it all.
What you do with the information you collect through even a single post makes all the difference in the world.

Now, we are not going to help you figure these things out yourself. We have over 20 (TWENTY) years experience in sales and marketing. We know just by one post your level of marketing knowledge and can tell you so much about your strategy just from that one post.

Here are some thoughts to think about, such as:

-Facebook algorithms no longer allow for Like Gateways, nor do these algorithms enable carries from liked posts. Lastly, which you probably already know this but we see it way too often not to state it again. If you are associated with an organization or company that is utilizing your likes to further their own business or posts that strategy NO LONGER WORKS! Likes are not what they used to be but it seems no matter how much we explain this, I'm sure you have heard it a few hundred times, or how often it is stated their are still those people, places and companies that still try to utilize the Likes to benefit themselves.

-Twitter has become interesting to say the least. You tweet, you hashtag, you share, and yet you'll always find those people, places and businesses that try to utilize these means for their own gain. Guess what, the algorithm detects these things (Not gonna explain the how or why it does) and can't be fooled. the progression of social media encourages the reinforcement of marketing strategies. You post what you mean and you mean what you post or in this case tweet.

- Let's talk Goodreads cause everyone we've spoken with makes it a valid place for one thing or another. Here's the thing about Goodreads that you may not realize or understand: IT's GONNA CHANGE TOO. Amazon purchased it last year and it has yet to debut the vast improvements they have been planning. No matter your experience on Goodreads realize it's a reference place as of yet that needs to transcend and it will very soon.

What we are trying to say without being over stating is change is happening and it is long over due. Take the time to realize these changes and adjust accordingly. Also, you MUST MUST MUST have a strategy and reason to post anything especially if you're trying to sell something. Figure it out or find someone that knows what they are doing. Ask that person this question: Without setting up a campaign how would you promote an item to spread the word about blah blah with a budget of Zero Dollars? See what their answer is. If it's have an event to invite your friends to, host a contest or giveaway to promote your whatever, or simply posting that on everyone you know's page and theirs too. DITCH THEM FAST!!! They are clueless!

Merry Christmas

Working on setting up the Advent Calendar for the Countdown to Christmas that Beau Coup Publishing and Author Sable Hunter will be having from the 13th to the 24th.

It's going to look something like this but I've got a lot more work to do to get it going. Including custom photos tailored specifically for the Publishing company and for the Author. Plus, I'll be adding pop ups with the prizes along with the individual sources for those prizes (i.e. the authors they correlate with the prizes for that day). Now the two will be different but this is just a template I'm using that they wanted except they'd like it to countdown from 13 to 1 and the boxes will be ornaments or something like that, not sure yet on that I have to make it and see how it looks.

Once that is done then I'll embed the code into the blogs, websites, and social media pages wherever I can for them.


It's definitely not something we see all the time and will be fun to make that's for sure, so stay tuned for updates to see how it all turns out!

Let's begin!

One of the most significant things we have to offer is our Added Touches to everything we do for our clients. To begin, let's start with identifying your concerns. Some of these can be as simple as my Social Media Page is not getting enough traffic. Something a little more complicated would be that you would like to publish your first book.
